Laddin Farmhouse

Barn. Probably late C17 to early C18. High rubble and brick plinths, timber-
framed partly weatherboarded and partly infilled with brick, slate roof. Six
or seven structural bays aligned east/west. South elevation: two sets of
ledged full-height opposed doors to threshing floors each one bay in from the
ends; left part has rubble plinth, occasional tension braces and brick panels;
right part, which is probably an extension, has brick plinth and mid-C19 brick
gable end with two low sets of ventilation holes and a weatherboarded gable.
Interior: two trusses to either side of right hand threshing floor have raking
struts from tie to principals and a similar arrangement but with the addition
of a central post supporting a collar (remaining trusses inaccessible at time
of re-survey, January 1985).
