Workman Bridge (Over River Avon)

A Grade II Listed Building in Evesham, Worcestershire

Plaque on Downstream side of Workman Bridge

Uploader's Comments

The plaque clearly shows the opening date as 1856 and the Mayoy, Henry Workman, after
whom the bridge was named. The Evesham Town Coat of Arms are shown.
Evesham's other river bridge is named Abbey Bridge, opened in 1928. It is commonly called the New Bridge, either because it is (or was) New, or more probably at the time the Mayor was Councillor New.
