Whiting-ash Farmhouse

House. Possibly late C16. Timber-framing and brick with tile roof. Two
storeys. Cross-wing at left framed with close-studding with curved tension
braces to the lower storey and with deeply-jowled principal posts. On the
ground floor is a small C19 canted bay window. On the first floor is a C20
casement. The exposed truss has a collar and a tie-beam with cambered top.
The range to the right is of two bays and is irregularly framed and fenestrated.
The door, at the left, is set between principal posts. To the right are brick
additions. Chimneys on left-hand wall of cross-wing and on rear wall in line
with left-hand bay. Interior not accessible at time of survey (June 1986).
