Pair of semi-detached estate cottages. Early C19. Coursed
squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof. Three C20
dressed stone stacks. Long rectangular plan to main body.
Symmetrical 1½ storey facade. Four half dormers to first floor
with 2-light stone-mullioned casements. Four 2-light casements
with stopped hoods to ground floor. C20 flush panel door to No 39
(left), C20 part-glazed door to No 40. Gable-end and axial stack
all set on plinths. Flat coping at gable ends and to dormers.
Moulded kneelers. Interiors not inspected. Coursed squared and
dressed limestone walls, c2m in height at right angles to gable
ends linking No 37 to No 39 and No 40 to No 41. (No 40, property
of National Trust).
