House and school, now 2 houses. Late C18 and early C19. Brick, pantile
roofs. 2 storeys, 2:2 first-floor windows. Stone sills to windows. Left-
hand house: C18. Central part-glazed 6-panel door in wooden door-case with
fluted frieze, paterae and cornice. Ground floor: sash windows. First
floor: sashes with glazing bars. Cornice. Cemented brick coping and end
stack to left. Right-hand house: C19. Part-glazed door below 2-pane
overlight: 16-pane sash window to right. First floor: sashes with glazing
bars. Brick cornice. End brick stacks. Interior, left-hand house: vaulted
cellars with fireplaces. Interior, right-hand house: one very large room
occupies front ground floor, with 6-fielded panel doors and decorated
ceiling, this room having been built to serve as a dame school.
