2/42 The Priory Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. C17 with later C18 and early C20 additions and alterations.
Timber-framed with painted brick infill, sandstone rubble plinth and refacing
and additions of same material; tiled roof. L-plan with main axial stack at
junction of wings, further gable-end stack; entrance central to north front.
Two storeys; three 2-light casement windows to first floor, one 2-light case-
ment window to left and two similar windows to right of lean-to porch, inner
ledged door. Interior retains moulded and chamfered ceiling beams and fire-
places with chamfered stone jambs and wooden lintels. A stone winder staircase
abutts to south side of stack of south wing.
