Farmhouse. C18, remodelled and extended circa mid C19; few later alterations.
Slatestone rubble, partly rendered, and partly slate-hung. Hipped slate roof with
ridge tiles and stacks to sides and rear with brick shafts.
Plan: Double depth plan, with principal room to front right and left, each heated by
side stack, entrance through porch to centre. At the rear there is a 2-storey
service wing to right and left, added circa mid C19, forming a small rear courtyard,
which is infilled by lean-tos.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 5-window front, all 16-pane sashes with timber
lintels at first floor and granite lintels at ground floor. Central gabled porch
with segmental-arched opening with keystone, inner 6-panelled door. Left side
rendered, with external stack to the front and the rear room; 12-pane sash with
granite lintel between the stacks at ground floor, the first floor level extended
with a 4-pane sash. Rear wing to left has 16-pane sash at ground and first floor and
external stack to left. The rear of the wing has a hipped roof, with two 12-pane
sashes at ground floor; the first floor level is slate-hung, with a 16-pane sash.
The rear wing to left has 2 windows at ground floor and one at first floor, all of
C20. The rear of the main range has a hipped roof over the central bay, with 3-light
window of late C19 and 12-pane sash.
