The Francis Willmer McAuley Memorial Cottages, built in the late 1920's in memorey of Captain F.W.McAuley who fell in action at Fonquervillers France on May 21st 1916 aged 25. The Original Concept was to provide Homes for anyone in difficult circumstances, such as Widows with young children, or disabled ex-servicemen with Families although the residents to-day are largely elderly. A Grade II Listed Building.
