House. Circa early C19 extended in circa mid C19. Rendered and painted stone rubble
and cob. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Brick end stack on left, brick end stack
incorporated as axial stack when the house was extended, and brick end stack to
right.
Plan: As existing it has a 3-room and cross passage plan with outshot to rear; the
entrance to right of centre, the left hand room heated by an end stack, the central
room by an axial stack backing onto the passage and the right hand room by an end
stack. The house was originally built with a 2 room and cross passage plan,
comprising the left hand range and in circa mid C19 was extended to right with an
addition of 1-room plan, the earlier entrance was blocked and a new entrance and
cross passage was incorporated in the mid C19 extension. In circa early to mid C19
the service outshot was added across the rear.
Exterior: 2-storeys. Regular 3-window front with 4 early C19 casements and 3 C20 2-
light casements. Ground floor with 3 2-light casements to left of plank door and one
to right, the second window is in the earlier blocked entrance. 3 casements on first
floor.
Interior: Slate flag floors and partitions in situ. 2 of the fireplaces have C20
grates and the third, a kitchen fireplace, has a brick segmental arch.
