Pair of weavers' cottages, probably late C18. Watershot coursed
stone, tiled roof with 2 skylights and 2 small modern cowls. Double
pile plan, each cottage one bay. Basement and 2 storeys: on right hand
side a flight of 6 stone steps (protected by modern wooden railings)
to a raised doorway with plain surround (cornice to No.2) and modern
panelled door; each cottage has on each floor a large stepped triple
window with plain sills heads and jambs all with modern glazing bars.
No.2 has one square basement window (under a head for 3), and No.4
has a triple basement window with glazing bars. Wall of No.4
incorporates quoins of No.6 adjoining on right (q.v.).
