House, C17; altered probably in late C18, now 2 cottages. Coursed
thin sandstone rubble on low plinth, with quoins, roof of tiles (No.6)
and stone slates (No.8), chimneys in front of the ridge at left end
and in centre. Two bays, now double pile. Two storeys: wall raised
above 1st floor; each has on right hand side an inserted doorway breaking
the plinth, at ground floor No.6 has a 4-light double-chamfered stone
mullion window with a hoodmould (lacking centre mullion) and No,8 has a
large inserted window; at 1st floor each has one square double-chamfered
window; and rear wall has inter alia 2 similar windows. Interior:
some alterations in progress but at time of survey (1984) No,6 had inglenook
fireplace with bressummer. Listed for group value only.
