WESTBY WITH PLUMPTONS BALLAM ROAD SD 33 SE 8/81 Garage c.20 metres west of Westby House - - II Barn or workshop, C17, formerly wheelwright's shop to Clifton Estate, now garage. Mostly handmade brick, steeply-pitched thatched roof. Rectangular plan, 3 small bays. Formerly lofted; modern garage doors to the centre, a dormer in the eaves above with wooden doors, to the left two coupled slit openings; left gable has similar small 3-light attic window with a label, and at ground floor towards the front an interrupted label to a much larger former opening, an inserted door now below this and another to the left. Rear has 2 inserted windows. Interior: 1st roof truss has re-used cruck blade as tie beam; other is altered.
