SX 96 NW COFFINSWELL DACCOMBE
4/107 Barn approximately 10 metres
- north-west of Appleacre
GV II
Bank barn. Circa late C17. Rendered cob walls. Thatched roof hipped to left,
gabled to right. Single cell rectangular room plan with entrance in gable end.
2 storeys. Double doors at right gable end. First floor reached at rear from
higher ground level although the ground does not extend right up to the wall and a
bridge has to be crossed to reach the door. At rear on ground floor at left-hand
side is 2-light chamfered wood mullioned window.
Interior: C19 roof timbers consisting of straight sawn principal rafters with lapped
and pegged collars.
