C18. The south entrance, on the axis of the Vyne, has a pair of wide piers in white
stone, with levelled rustication, plinth, and cornice with pediments front and rear.
Niche seats are on the outer face. Plain wrought-iron gates, and flanking screens
above a low brick wall, ending in brick piers with moulded caps surmounted by stone
vases.
