Two barns, now one. C17 and c1700 with later modifications. Timber-frame on
rubble plinth, some woven infill panels, weatherboarding patched with corrugated
iron, corrugated iron and asbestos roof. 5 bay threshing barn of C17 to south
end, 2 bay link and 5 bay threshing barn of c1700 to north end, both barns with
central threshing floor. Framing: north barn: walls 3 square panels high to
wall-plate, intermediate trusses: 4 slightly raked struts, ridge, 3 purlins;
gables: 2 collars with multiple queen struts; south barn: walls: 2 square above
1 rectangular panel, intermediate trusses: 2 raking struts and high set collar,
ridge; gables: queen struts to collar. The truss in the link has two queen
struts to the collar and 2 raking struts above; probably C18. RCHM, I, pages 27/28,
no 13.
