metres north-west of west
tower of Church of St Mary

Chest tomb. John Phillips died 1797. Ashlar. Bold corner balusters, raised
and fielded inscription panel, moulded cornice, flat top. Inscription:
"To the Memory of John Phillips/ of the Town of Hay Inn - Holder/ who departed
this Life June 7th 1797/ Aged 59 Years". This is agood example of stone
masonry and enhances the setting of the church; it contributes to the group
value of the other memorials in the churchyard.
