A C16-C17 brick and stone house incorporating a medieval timber frame. The north front is now plastered and the south front has medieval stonework. Two storeys and attics. Three window range on both north and south fronts, C20 casements, the windows on the north front have glazing bars and stucco hood moulds. Roof tiled, steeply pitched, with stopped gables and three gabled dormers on the south front. This building is included in grade I because of its close association with the medieval hospital remains.

No 1 (St John's Farmhouse), Dovecote, Wall & barns to the north and south west of the farmhouse, Nos 2 to 20 (even) & Nos 2 to 12 (even) & No 16 (West End PH) West End form a group.
