Cottage. Probably C17. Whitewashed rendered stone ; thatched roof, hipped at right
end, gabled at left end ; large projecting rear lateral stack with bread oven.
Plan: Interior not inspected, probably 2 room on plan. Single storey lean-to at left
end with slate roof.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front steps up to C20 glazed porch in
centre, 2 small first floor and 2 ground floor timber casements with glazing bars.
The rear elevation, to the road is blind apart from 1 ground floor 2-light window.
Interior: Not inspected at time of survey but may be of interest.
A very unspoiled small traditional cottage, group value-with the church.
The cottage is illustrated, in the distance, in Swete's "Picturesque Sketches of
Devon", vol. 11 (1795), MS held by the Devon Record Office.
