Millhouse, on ancient site, 1795 on earlier core; colourwashed brick, black
glazed pantiles. 3 bays, 3 storeys with range to right of 2 and 1 storeys.
Main facade to river: 3 storeyed block to left in Flemish bond; cross windows
with segmental heads to ground and first floors, second floor with double
casements and segmental heads; central doorway with wooden surround having
pediment and pulvinated frieze, part glazed door. Range to right colour-
washed, of several builds; 2 storeyed range at left partly in English bond
and header bond with several blocked openings, left bay later in Flemish
bond with flush sash with glazing bars to first floor; single storey to right
with one flush sash with glazing bars. Left return of 3 storeyed block of
one bay with openings to each floor as to principal facade. Rear of red
brick and pantiles with various additions. First floor of central bay with
flush sash with glazing bars; 2 storeyed forward wing with hipped roof to
rear of bay 3, recessed sashes with glazing bars, that to ground floor with
gauged flat arch, window to ground, louvred shutters with fretwork; left
return of wing with French windows to ground floor having arch and shutters
as to front, sash with glazing bars to first floor. Glazed lean-to
conservatory. Rear of 2 storeyed range mainly in Flemish bond; bowed
tripartite sash with glazing bars to ground floor left, doorway to right
inside conservatory; first floor with flush sash with glazing bars to left,
double casement with glazing bars to right. Interior: between first and
second bays of 2 storeyed range a wall in C17 brick in English bond.
