II
Country House. 1862 with north wing of 1895. Brick with ashlar dressings
and slate roofs. Neo-Tudor style. 2-3 storeys in 7 bays. Entrance front
to south. 3 storey porch with angle buttresses to first floor. Ashlar
doorway. Fenestration of stone cross casements, the principal rooms of 4 lights,
otherwise of 2. Attic windows of 2 lights set below gables. Crenellated
parapet and gabled roof. Multiply flued decorated stacks appear picturesquely
here and there. East and west returns repeat general asymmetrical disposition
and character of facade. 2 storey north wing in restrained Neo-Tudor style
lit through 2 and 3 light cross casements. Gabled slate roof with decorated
multiply flued stacks.
