Cottage - former toll house. 1877. Toll house to the adjacent Axmouth Bridge
designed by Philip Brannon and the first bridge to be built of concrete in England.
The small single storey toll house is also built of mass concrete, smooth render
treated to simulate horizontal rustication. Tarred segmental arched roof, the eaves
carried over on road side to form canopy on large brackets with splayed bay beneath
to right and central doorway. Right and left hand return elevations rusticated, two
casement windows. Chimney stack over segmental gables.
