St. Mary's & All Saints Church, Rivenhall, Essex, England

View from the South East. The church sits on a low ridge. The land drops away to a valley in the East and South, in which a stream, or streams, are located. It's significance may explain the previously excavated Roman villa remains that are located very close to the church and surrounding area. Habitation of the immediate area has been dated as far back as the Iron Age.
On the day I visited the area, I could easily see why the location was chosen as a fine place to live and farm.
