Holt - Queen Victoria Jubilee Memorial - combined Drinking Fountain and Lamp-post - erected 1887 - Known locally as 'Blind Sam' due to the sporadic nature of the early gas supply! Originally situated in Market Place it was relocated in 1921 to make way for the new WW1 War Memorial. Manufactured in Glasgow and restored in the 1990's. (ref. Wikipedia).
