School. Probably 1870s. Red sandstone with yellow brick dressings; asbestos slate
roof, gabled at ends, stack with brick shaft. Modest Gothic details.
Plan: 2 classrooms at right angles to one another, the smaller classroom (projecting
to. the front) flanked by lean-tos.
Exterior: Single storey. Asymmetrical elevation to the road, the gable end of the
smaller classroom with cusped bargeboards with trefoil piercings and a depressed 2-
centred arched window with 2 transoms, glazing bars and a stone sill; slit window in
the gable. The lean-to at the right is slighly set back, also with bargeboards and a
blocked depressed 2-centred arched doorway. The lean-to to the left is also set back
with a depressed 2-centred doorway. Both lean-tos have small square windows to the
returns. The rear classroom has transomed depressed 2-centred arched windows.
An attractive late C19 school.
