House. Circa 1840. Cob, on stone plinth, rendered, with slate hipped roof with
brick stacks to rear. L-shaped plan, with stables occupying the rear range of a
small courtyard. 2 storeys.
Front: 3 bays, all 5 windows have two 3-pane casements with margin panes those on
ground floor under small blind-boxes on brackets to first floor only. Panelled
front door with semi-circular fanlight, and panelled reveals. Wooden lattic-work
porch with moulded canopy. The end wall to Town Hill has 2 blocked windows and
attached to this is the former service wing with one 3-light casement to each floor,
that to the first floor original. Front room interiors with semi-circular niches,
panelled internal shutters, and small moulded cornices; staircase with single turned
balusters. The yard is entered through trap gatepiers. Stable, stone rubble, with
slate roof; open fronted cart shed with weatherboarded hayloft above; stable retains
original features intact: 2 stalls with mangers, the hay-loft above (weatherboarded
externally), and tack room.
