House. Circa 1600, extended in C17, C18 and C20. Timber framed, plastered,
roofed with handmade red plain tiles. 2 bays aligned NW-SE, with external stack
at each end. C17 one-bay extension to SE, C18 one-bay extension to NW. C20
extensions to NE. 2 storeys with attics. SW elevation, 3 C20 casements on
ground floor, 2 on first floor. C20 French windows. The right extension,
originally of one storey, has been raised approx. 0.5 metre to match the left
extension, both now of one storey with attics, in gambrel roofs. Jowled posts.
Chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops, plain joists of approximately
square section. Large wood-burning hearth to right with sides of 0.33 metre
brickwork, original. Smaller C18/19 hearth at left. Primary straight bracing
exposed internally in left extension.
