Dairy, now houses. Built c1920 by Sir Ernest Debenham as the central dairy of
Briantspuddle Farm - now four houses. Concrete block walls, part rendered, thatched
roofs, brick stacks. Planned as three sides of a quadrangle - the two projecting
wings of two storeys and attics - the rear range single-storeyed octagonal turrets
in the corners - formerly cheese rooms. 7
Nos 29 and 30 the projecting wings, each have recessed porches with ledged doors, in
the walls facing the quadrangle ground floors, in these facades, each have one
timber casement with iron sashes and lead lights. First floors each have three
similar windows. One similar dormer in each attic. On front gable end elevations
each house has a projecting square bay window with thatched roof and similar
casements on ground floor. Two similar windows on first floor and one in attic.
The central single-storey range - Nos 1 and 2 Dairy Bungalows, has a slightly higher
section in the centre, containing a recessed loggia. Part-glazed entrance doors.
Casement windows with iron sashes and lead lights. Retaining wall in front of
building of rubble stone, with rounded brick capping. An attractive group in the
"Garden City" tradition.
