School. Dated 1826 (not original). Flint, gault brick with gault brick
dressings. Slate roof to front, composite in imitation of slate to rear.
L-shaped plan. Regular buttressed single storey facade of 9 bays. Central
bay has projecting porch with crow-stepped gable and finials, lower central
extension to this in brick with 2-centred blank arch bearing dates of 1826
and 1976; castellated parapet and finials; niches to each side. Axial stack
to porch. 8 square-headed 8-light tall windows, the top 2 panels having
2-centred arch glazing bars; square hood mould. Large wooden eaves
brackets; corner finials. Central spirelet for bell. Gable ends have 2
lancet windows each with Y-tracery glazing bars with brick dressings under
hood moulds; brick roundel above with stone tracery; corner finials.
Another similar range of 5 bays to rear possibly of later date but same
decorative details.
