SP 0602-0702 AMPNEY CRUCIS HILCOT END

11/42 Little Oak

GV II

Large detached cottage. Partly C17, with date 1657 applied in
metal digits to blocked apex light of right gable end, altered in
late C19/early C20 and raised on left hand side. Coursed rubble
stone with quoins, mainly stone slate roof with artificial stone
slates on raised left hand side. Originally probably 'L'-shape
with south arm of 'L' much lower, now raised, and including C20
extension in rear angle. Two storeys. Right hand side has 2-light
stone mullion with some leading to first and ground floors and
recessed plank door with timber lintel and raking hood to right.
Two-light casement with brick quoins to ground floor left. Rear of
main section has 2-light stone mullion on each floor and C20
inserted light in former rear doorway. Lower roof line on right
gable indicates former presence of additional range. Gable end now
has inserted C20 windows.
