The Lodge
II
House. Mid-to late C18 front pile added to C17 rear pile. Red brick front,
flint with brick dressings rear, slated roofs. 2 storey with attics. 2 canted
2 storey bays with 3 sashes with glazing bars under flat rubbed brick arches
to each floor. Central wooden Doric doorcase with 2 half columns, entablature
with triglyphs, baseless pediment with guttae. Raised and fielded reveals
and soffit with keystone. Part glazed door with glazing bars and switch
tracery fanlight. First floor sash with glazing bars above. Parapeted eaves,
stone coping. 3 dormers, sashes with glazing bars. Stacks removed. Mansarded
roof, hipped at ridge level. 3 storey rear pile with to south flint and brick
gable suggesting pre-1700 origin for rear pile. To east 2 storey brick and
pantiled wing with hipped gable.
