2 barns, now a house and barn attached. C17, conversion in later C20.
Timber frames on brick sills with old red tiled roofs. House has exposed
frame brick nogged, barn dark weatherboarded. A pair of barns joined at
right angles, formerly of Tenements Farm. West barn now a 16 storeys
house, of 4 structural bays with gabled former porch on W in 2nd bay
from S, and rear aisle under a catslide roof. C20 rear gabled extension
in same bay. 3 gabled dormers on eaves at W with 2-light flush lattice
leaded casements. 3 3-light casements to ground floor below, the mid
height rail with curved tension bracing above it. Inserted chimneys at N
gable and at centre of building. Gable shows inclined queen-post,
clasped-purlin roof with diminished principals and one purlin each side.
Wide framing and tension bracing. Similar structure to N barn, but W bay
in domestic use. Formerly named The Cottage.
