Gilling Castle


GV II


Gateposts rind railings to Gilling Castle (q.v.). Early C18. Limestone and
wrought-iron. Pair of gateposts flanked by railings on low curved and
angled walls. Posts approximately 3 metres high of 6 bulbous blocks on
plain base surmounted by carved lions. Low walls with moulded upper courses lions. Low walls with moulded upper courses
carry wrought-iron railings with elaborate flowers to angles.
