GV II

House. Said to have been built in 1803 for General Haddon. Red
brick. Slate hipped roof. 2 storeys and attics. 5 sash
windows, the upper ones with slatted shutters. Ground floor has
late-C19 glazed verandah on left side. Doorway to centre within
verandah has moulded round arch and deep reveals. Moulded brick
cornice. Parapet. 3 flat-topped casement dormers. Side and
rear elevations have brick modillioned cornice. Rear elevation
has single-storey semicircular bay on left side with three French
casements. South elevation has large single storey later
extension. Late C19 addition on N. Interior retains simple
contemporary open-well staircase lit by an oval skylight in the
ceiling of the hall. Some rooms with contemporary cornicing.
