SO 38 NW LYDBURY NORTH C.P. WALCOT

5/136 Dovecote approximately 50 metres to north- west of Walcot Hall GV II Dovecote. Probably C17, remodelled in late C19. Coursed rubble and squared and coursed limestone; conical plain tile roof. Circular plan. One storey and loft. 3 hipped dormers with 2 tiers of dove entrances, and central octagonal wooden cupola with 2 tiers of dove entrances and ogee lead cap with globe finial. Boarded door to south- west. 2 blocked arched windows and relieving arch to blocked door at north-east. Interior: nesting holes; ladder to loft.
