Granary. Late C18/early C19. Tall, single storey, timberframed
weatherboarded granary facing W, raised on 3 rows of 6 dressed
stone staddles. Steep gabled roof now covered in corrugated
asbestos. 2 plank doors above one another in middle of W wall.
Unusual structure of 5 narrow bays with short braces and long
braces from bay post to wall plate in alternate bays. Queen
strut clasped purlin roof. Long straight braces to tie beams.
Jowled corner posts but unjowled bay posts. Ogee bracingin
each end wall. Boarded floor supported on heavy floor beams. -
Part of picturesque group with historic dovecote and barns at
Nine Ashes.
