Farmhouse, now house. Early C17 with later additions and alterations.
Timber framed with red brick infill on red sandstone plinth; slate roof.
H-plan comprising hall range, apparently of 2 full bays with half bays
to each end, and 2-bay gabled cross-wings. One storey and attic. Framing:
square and rectangular panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate with long straight
tension braces to cross-wings. Collar and tie beam trusses to gables
with V-struts from collars. 1:2:1 windows, late C19 wooden mullioned
and transomed windows to ground floor and 3-light mullioned windows to
first floor including to timber framed gabled eaves dormers. Central
flush 6-panel door in plain pilastered doorcase with bracketed open pediment.
Red brick ridge stacks to left and right of hall range and integral end
stack to rear of right gable. Interior. Not inspected but likely to
be of interest.
