C18 exterior features. Proportions suggest C16 or C17 structure, L-shaped with secondary front to Church Street. Timber frame plastered. Steep old red tile roof hipped at corner and at east end but gabled to north. Modillioned eaves cornice. Two storey, three windows to west. C18 flush box sashes with moulded architraves and six/six panes. C19 shopfront with slender pilasters and full entablature breaking forward over scrolled brackets. Corner door blocked. Entablature continues round corner over small shop window in Church Street. Similar pilasters,brackets and entablature at some height to wide double doors (formerly glazed) in Church Street. Walls have pargetting in small raised panels above a low plinth. Two low windows to first floor in Church Street, east window flush sash,window with moulded architrave and twelve/six panes, west window same size but triple Victorian sash window with one/one panes. External gable chimney to north. Smaller internal gable stack to south. C19 single storey and cellar narrow stucco extension to east end in Church Street. High plinth with two cast iron vents to cellar. Continuous cill band. Three narrow round headed windows with glass deeply recessed. Keystones run up to full entablature with stucco modillioned cornice and blocking course with moulded coping. Ceiling follows slopes of roof and has ornamental cast iron brackets.

Main building appears in a drawing by J C Buckler of 1834 with a smaller shopfront onto Knight Street but with same roof form and appearance. Important in street views from
west and south.
