House. C17, Gothicked in early C19. Timber-frame roughcast
above a stuccoed plinth. Gabled thatched roofs. 1 storey hall
range facing E with one and a half storeys jettied crosswing on N
extending far to rear. 6 panelled flush beaded door next to
crosswing, has heavy frame with moulded flat hood on large
console brackets. 3-light flush C19 casement to hall range.
Similar to each floor of crosswing. Delicate dentilled
decoration to bressumer and small chamfered braces each end.
Thin squared joist ends. Scrolled wooden bargeboard to verge
with moulded pendant in apex. A picturesque historic thatched
house in a dramatic position above the road cutting. Part of the
varied group at this end of the High Street.
