Crosswing of house, converted to a barn. C16, converted in C17. Timber
frame on brick sill, frame exposed with brick infill on S and part of W
side, dark weatherboarded elsewhere. Steep pitched roof, boarded and
covered in corrugated iron. A 2-bays structure with jowled posts,
mid-height rail jointed in-line, 5 panels to S bay: 4 to N bay with the
brackets to the wallplate at N to carry a former projected N gable
truss. Double-curved wind-braces to S corner. Holes for wattle infill
panels under wallplate. Cranked braces to central truss with collar and
inclined queen-struts. Clasped-purlin type roof. Added C17 N frame has
step-jowls, straight braces to tie-beam and a central post, and
staggered mid-height rail. Gabled porch added on E side of N bay.
