Shown on O.S. map as Cotons Farm.
Farmhouse. Late C17 with later alterations and additions. Red brick,
partly rendered; plain tile roof with catslides over outshuts in angle
at rear. Baffle-entry L-plan. 2 storeys and attic. Plat bands,
parapeted gable ends, central brick ridge stack and integral brick end
stack to rear wing. 3 bays; late C19 wooden cross-casements; former
central door replaced with wooden cross-casement. Entrance now at rear.
Interior not inspected but said to contain a large open fireplace and
C17 boarded doors. This house was first recorded in 1699, as The
Cotons; the kitchen is said to date from c.1800. V.C.H., Vol. VIII,
p.18.
