11/99 Barn attached to Chilcote Manor


Prebendal manor house, now barn. C15, C19 alterations. Rubble, flush-dressed quoins, coped verges, pantiles.
Rectangular on plan. Original features include a chamfered 4-centred arch door opening to west; a wide moulded
4-centred arch door opening with panel traceried soffit to east; 3 single light trefoil headed window openings, one
with hood mould; one 2-light stone mullioned window opening with trefoil headed lights; one blocked similar window but
with transom; some iron transoms and saddle bars; some leaded lights. Paired traceried doors and ribbed and studded
door on principal openings are C19 additions. Interior with a wide open fireplace with a chamfered 4-centred arch. C19
and C20 lean-tos are not of special interest.
