of Hill Farmhouse

Barn and adjoining granary and shelter shed. Mid-C18. Brick with dentilled
eaves cornices and plain tiled roofs. L-plan; three-bay barn aligned north/
south with three-bay granary at south gable end and five-bay shelter shed
adjoining north end of west elevation. Barn: central wagon bay has opposed
cart entries with cambered heads; walls have header ventilation courses.
Granary: roof is half-hipped at south gable end; two levels: lower level open
for cart storage with upper level supported on intermediate square piers with
bullnosed corners; central bay has gabled dormer with 2-light window to west
and east elevations; sandstone and brick steps up to granary entrance in south
gable end. These buildings enclose the farmyard on the north side of Hill
Farmhouse (qv).
