12/158 Barn to the North-
west of The Hall

GV II

Warehouse, late C15 or early C16, and C17. Timber framed,
plastered and weather boarded with C17 local bricks and C19
gault brick foundations and walls. Half-hipped plain tile
roof. Original building substantially framed, has one closed
truss partition and original floor, mortices in north-east
elevation suggest it was aisled. In C17 further three bays
added with floor and the whole building roofed with side purlin
and queen strut roof. Rows of regularly placed peg holes to
original interior may have been for pegs or shelves used for
storage of specialist items. Four C19 first floor wooden
latticed windows with shutters in north-east elevation and
boarded doors.
