The description shall be amended to read:-

Country house. Circa 1660 for John Edwards, son in law of Richard
Heath; altered in C18, C19 and C20. English bond red brick with
moulded brick plinth and string. Tiled hipped roof with coved
eaves cornice. Large external brick lateral stacks with tall
square shafts. PLAN: U-shaped plan, the wings at rear (N). The
first phase of the 1660 house comprised the hall and two rooms
in the east wing which was extended to the north, a stairhall
added behind the hall and the west wing built soon after 1660;
the west wing replacing the earlier house of Richard Heath which
was demolished. Alterations to the fenestration and other changes
in C18, C19 and C20. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attics and cellar.
Asymmetrical 8 bay south front, moulded string removed and flat
rubbed brick window arches with C20 12-pane sashes. Resited stone
doorway to left of centre with tapered pilasters, cornice, ball
finials, pediment and panelled door. Seven cambered top dormers.
East and west sides have large lateral stacks, without string
courses, 12-pane sashes, 2 cross mullion transom windows on
ground floor of east side and same moulded brick cornices. 2:4:2
window north elevation, intact stringcourse and cornices. C19/20
cross mullion transom windows,large central stair window, doorway
to right of centre and window above with balustrade apron.
INTERIOR: Many good interior features including C17 and other
C18, C19 and C20 chimneypieces, cornices and coffered ceilings
and C17 bolection panelling; the elaborate panelling on first
floor SE room is possibly C19. Fine C17 double stair behind hall,
the west part constructed from the reused parts of the
reconstructed second stage to the attics. Tie beam and collar
roof trusses with queen struts and trenched purlins. SOURCES:

Country house. Probably c1660 with C18 and later alterations. Brick,
hipped tiled roof with brick end and side stacks. U-plan with wings extend-
ing northwards. Cellar, two storeys and attic. South front: English bond
with moulded brick plinth. Eight windows, glazing bar sashes set slightly
irregularly. Ground floor windows have gauged brick heads. Dormers with
cambered heads and 2-light casements. Entry in third bay from left has C17
sandstone surround with a pair of tapered fluted pilasters. Pediment and
ball finials to projecting cornice above pilasters. Six-panelled oak door
with raised and fielded panels. Fragments of moulded brick string interrupted
by window heads. Deep coved moulded eaves cornice in wood and plaster.
West elevation has three large end stacks. North elevation has two windows
to each wing. Cross-casements and dormers. Large 3-light window to centre
between floor levels. Moulded floating cornice and interrupted strings.
Interior noted as having C17 staircase and panelling to north side of centre
