This property with the cottages adjoining on the north are now converted
into flats and are known as Ancient Houses, Nos 1 to 4.
A C16 timberframed and plastered building with a tiled roof and ridge
chimney stack. Two storeys. The upper storey is jettied on the whole
front on exposed joists and curved brackets with shafts. All the timber-framing
is exposed on the front. The upper storey has 3 window range of casements.
Two of them are 4-light shallow oriels with the remains of moulded sills
and frames. The ground storey has a shallow 6-light bar and transom
bay with a deep brick plinth with moulded string courses. The doorway
is approached by a flight of steps from the pavement.
