Public House. Early C18 and late C18. Coursed limestone rubble and brick
dressings; thatched roof and brick stacks. L-plan. 2-window front has sash with
gauged brick flat arch and double sash with segmental arch below 2 gabled
2-light dormers. Projecting chimney to left gable above small single-storey
extension. 2-storey wing returns to rear on right with single-storey ranges
adjoining. "Antolus/1795" inscribed on quoin of rear wing. Interior: Chamfered
and stopped beams; large open fireplace with bressumer and bread oven; extensive
cellars. Interior datestone inscribed "W+R/17 J(?)95". Said to be recorded as
public house from C16.
