A Grade I Listed Building in City of London, London

Gatehouse of St. Bartholomew the Great.

Uploader's Comments

The gate was the original entrance to the Nave's south aisle. Above the gate is one of the earliest surviving timber-frame house fronts in London, built by William Scudamore in 1595 and restored early 20th century following damage from a Zeppelin bomb in 1916. Parts of the stone gate date from 1240, but most of the stonework was installed during the 1932 restoration.
