Lodge to Mendham Priory (q.v.). Dated on a buttress 'ER 1822'. Flint rubble,
incorporating medieval stonework from St. Mary's Priory which stood some 600m
to the north. Slated roof. Single storey. Picturesque style. Symmetrical
facade with a central gable and parapeted sections to either side; buttresses
of semi-circular and moulded stonework. The buttresses and gable apex are
capped by pieces of carved stone, with further pieces along the side walls.
Doorway with 2-centred arch and boarded door; above is a coat of arms
displaying 6 lions and Fleurs-de-lys, surmounted by a crown. To each side are
pointed-arch casement windows with Y-tracery, and in the outer bays segmental-
headed niches.
