House, latterly a public house. Early C16 core with considerable later
alterations and additions. Timber framed, mainly roughcast-rendered.
Pantiled roof, hipped to the left. L-shape plan, the original range being at
right angles to the road. 2 storeys. 3 windows, small-paned sashes to ground
floor, C19 casements to first floor. 2 internal stacks, one of them in the
rear range. Boarded half-door within small addition set forward to the left.
The original range has been heightened: there is a secondary diamond-mullioned
window on the ground floor with evidence for the original mullions above. The
right hand section of the front range is a late C17 addition. In the front
range a ground floor fireplace lintol is inscribed 'BENJAMIN EDWARDES OCTO YE
1 1663'; in the opposite room an C18 fireplace with eared surround.
