Row of four Poynder estate houses, dated 1874, rock-faced stone
with ashlar dressings and slate eaves roofs. l 1/2 storeys with
paired projecting centre gables and projecting gables each end.
Ashlar ridge stack behind each gable. Stone mullion windows with
hoodmoulds and iron lattice lights, a 3-light below and 2-light
above to each gable, end gables with apex date plaques. Between
centre and end gables roof is carried low over 3-bay verandahs on
timber posts each with 2-light window between two doors and large
timber dormer on roof slope with decorative gable and 3-light
timber mullion window. Wrought iron finials. Apparently an
expanded version of Plan 4, for a pair of cottages, in Henry
Weaver's Hints on Cottage Architecture 1848.
